Hydrangeas growly profusely here on the Island.  We get such a huge variety of colours from deep burgundy to light turquoise.  I love the ones that go from light blue to pink, to turquoise and I have tried to capture that in this painting.

It seems every yard has hydrangea bushes and the array of colours is totally amazing... I guess the soil is perfect to produce blue ones, blue green ones, pink, white and deep purple. They seem to thrive here in our climate and I have painted alot through the years. Each bloom has such unique edges and curls..

Hydrangeas are bursting with colour in every corner right now. I love the array of pinks, mauves and blues they offer.

This is the hydrangeas completed. I did a pour of colours before I started the actual flower and I think it worked okay.

I am finally getting more time in my studio. I am currently working on some hydrangeas. The blues, purples and pinks are so gorgeous right now, and I do enjoy painting them.

I am using some techniques I learned at Jan Wallake's workshop and poured on some colours for the background. I am now starting the flowers. I'll post it when it is done.
