Brighter paintings coming?

After watching Tom Lynch create bright, bold paintings I thought mine are a little too bland. I bought a piece of his acetate that you can paint on and try it over your existing paintings to see what might work. I have a very "nice" painting of an old growth forest and I think I will have to give it a try. "Nice" apparently is not want we should strive for! Interesting, bold, exciting should be our goal. So perhaps my New Year's resolution will be to paint more boldly and forget about the dieting...Time will tell :)
